APW – Rockford, Grade 505 (marked), 21J, 16S, gold-filled OF recase with superb engraving to rear including ornate fine detail giving a somewhat two-tone appearance, rear shield with engraving and date, name engraved inside rear, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, large polished steel disk surrounding escape wheel jewel setting, gold jewel settings, gold train, mvt marked "RG" denoting Railroad Grade, spiral pattern nickel damascene, s#593932. A rare and beautiful watch with a total production of only 230 made. The Grade 505 and its hunting case equivalent the Grade 500 were Rockford's finest quality 16 size movements. Mvt: GRO, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, missing one center jewel setting screw, few specks of oxide to steelwork, short scratch at perimeter of barrel bridge adjacent larger winding wheel, few mild fine and micro-fine scratches; dial with scattered outer chapter hls, scattered small patched edge chips under bezel; excellent hands; case shows hardly any wear, two short scratches on band, no dents or dings, superb crisp engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
